RAUDONDVARIS STADIUM
Raudondvaris is transforming its old school stadium into a modern community sports center. Located at Atgimimo Street 1, the new football stadium will replace the outdated field in the southern part of the school plot. The project is structured in two phases to allow for efficient and gradual development.
Phase I: Football Field and Open Grandstands
In the first stage, the team will install a full-size football field with artificial turf and surround it with a synthetic running track. Two spectator stands will frame the northern side of the pitch. The open grandstands will offer around 1,000 seats, including designated spaces for people with reduced mobility. In addition, four lighting towers will ensure safe and functional use during evening games.
Phase II: Covered Grandstand and Support Facilities
The second phase will introduce a two-storey covered grandstand building with auxiliary rooms. The rectangular structure will blend visually with the nearby planned school through the use of matching materials such as vertical grey metal lamellae and concrete in clinker tones. This visual consistency helps integrate the stadium into the broader educational campus.
Visitors will enter through a main lobby on the ground floor, which connects to a staff room, a commentator/security area, accessible restrooms, and a block of public toilets on the northern side. Meanwhile, the basement will house locker rooms, a warm-up area, medical rooms, and technical facilities. The layout separates the flows of players, staff, and spectators, improving both safety and comfort for all users.
Integrated Access and Parking
The stadium has been designed with logistical clarity in mind. Service vehicles will enter from the southeast corner of the plot, while designated parking for special transport will be available in a nearby state-owned lot to the southwest. Spectator parking is planned on a future site across the road at S. Neries Street 13 and 15, outside the school grounds.
Architecture That Serves the Community
The architecture focuses on clarity, functionality, and a strong connection to its public context. By dividing the project into manageable phases, the design team ensures that the space can evolve with community needs. While the new stadium enhances the school environment, it also becomes a versatile venue for local events, training, and regional matches.
